President Obama announced a framework deal with Republicans to extend the Bush tax rates for two years. While it is good that Congress avoided a full train-wreck on taxes, my concern is that the deal mostly maintains the status quo. Current tax rates and tax uncertainty will extend for another two years in return for an expensive job-killing unemployment insurance benefit (as state unemployment insurance rates are skyrocketing nationwide.) It doesn't address the small business issues so important to jobs.
